Winning a National CR Award will make us serve better

Andaz Aaron from Radio Namaskar Community Radio station shares his thoughts on winning the national award.

OneWorld: What does it mean to you to win this award?

Answer: Definitely, the award means a lot and it will encourage us to work and serve the community better. It feels great that the station’s work is recognized and awarded by government. We are earnestly grateful for the recognition that Radio Namaskar has received for its work, because we are very sure that every other nominee for this award was as capable if not more, of winning this award.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to each one for helping us in reaching this stage where we can proudly hold up this award as a mark of our achievement. We also promise to only get better at our work so that you can witness our community radio winning more such awards.

OneWorld: How does it feel winning more than one award?

Answer: We all are very happy that our CR station got three national awards. It’s all because of great effort made by our entire team, volunteers, radio listener groups, experts, resource persons who helped us every time. Though Radio Namaskar is successfully broadcasting since 10 years, the awards will be a new turning moment for our CR to work effectively.

OneWorld: Did you produce programmes  specifically to apply for awards or did you send your best programmes for awards?

Answer: We had sent our best programmes for awards. We produce and broadcast fresh programmes regularly. The sent programmes are the best among them which won awards.

OneWorld: What is your message for CR stations to encourage them to apply for CR awards in future?

Answer: I would like to say, every CR station must apply for CR awards where they can get recognition at the national level. The community people and all the persons who are involved with CR with its daily functioning will be very happy that will give immense satisfaction. This will definitely encourage others to march ahead.
